Book Review - The Smitten Husband by Sundari Venkatraman

Ram! Ram! Ram!   (couldn't help he is too good, drool worthy)

That is exactly what I said after I read the book.

What would happen if you get married and realise your partner got into the relationship unwillingly?

Ram, the man with a mischievous tone to his character is so smitten by the girl his parents arranged for him to get married that he didn’t realise that he forgot to ask if she felt at least a little interest in him. (Heart breaks when he realizes he had taken her interest for granted) A very straight forward man finds himself in a abyss.( My lips droop as I see him suffer)

Sapna very beautiful woman who due to her families financial situations is not able to pursue higher studies but soon finds her passion in mehendi art. She puts beautiful mehandi designs for brides and her relatives. She enjoyed every bit of it and helped her family monetarily. She was waiting for her prince charming to come and sweep her off her feet but Ram had come as a proposal brought by their astrologer. Her strength and head strong nature is beautifully portrayed when she tells her husband she is not going to be his wife in reality.
But slowly she is pulled towards her patient husband. Ram’s patience and understanding is so heart touchingly expressed.( My eyes shine with stars for Ram) When he finds Sapna in his room wrapped just in her towel instead of rushing to her with all the turbulent need suppressed in him for so long he just opens his arms for her to decide. (A true gentleman and now I have hearts in my eyes for him)  That moment will be with me for quite some time.
But yes and a but again... I am finding it very hard to wait for Laxman's story Ram’s brother, the silent type and you know the silent type can be intense and complicated. Please Sundari Venkatraman ..... The wait is really hard.

Blurb:

Ram Maheshwari is a successful jewellery designer who has a huge showroom on MI Road, Jaipur. He’s tall, dark, handsome and a billionaire to boot. He’s twenty-nine and falls in with his parents’ wishes when they try to arrange his marriage.

The lovely, stormy-eyed Sapna Purohit is from Pushkar. She’s managed to finish school and makes a living by doing mehendi designs during weddings. She’s always dreamt of a Prince on a white horse, sweeping her off her feet.

One look into Sapna’s grey eyes and Ram is lost. Only, Sapna is unable to see her Prince in Ram. Being from a poor family, she has no choice but to go along with the tide when the Maheshwaris offer to bear all expenses of the wedding.

Does that mean that the feisty Sapna is all set to accept Ram as her husband? She puts forth a condition, after the wedding. Will the smitten husband agree to it?

*MARRIAGES MADE IN INDIA is a five-novella series that revolves around the characters you have met in The Runaway Bridegroom.
