Book Review: The Untold Story by Ridhi Drolia

A nice love story!

A very sweet and innocent love story of Vihaan and Riaa narrated on and off by Tanya, the sweet and charming friend of Vihaan. An all-together good read. Few editing issues stood out as I read through the book.
The author has tried a different narration technique. Sometimes it felt that it was taking the attention away from the story but soon your attention moves back to it.
As the book moves to climax, you never see the twist coming. The lighthearted romance takes a completely unexpected turn. You should read to know what happens and how it affects the story.
I would certainly have loved to know about Tanya and how her life moved forward. Throughout the book, we see how she met Vihaan and how their friendship blossomed, and later she is seen just narrating the story. I understand it is Vihaan’s story alone, still would have loved to know about Tanya and what she does in life. The technique did remind me of the movie Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, where their common friends narrate the love story of the protagonists to a cynic.

Blurb:

Love comes in different forms. But in all its forms, it comes with various challenges. Only those who can combat those challenges are true lovers.

The Untold Story is the tale of Vihaan and Riaa. Vihaan falls for Riaa’s charms at first sight and brings to her life crazy adventures and madness. They soon emerge as two hearts with one soul and their intimate fantasies begin to unravel in exotic places.

Their bond experience more downs than ups. These unexpected twists and turns bring Vihaan and Riaa closer and their romantic tale turn into one of lifetime bonding.

The story takes a drastic turn after the lovely couple is blessed with a baby boy. It should be a joyous moment, but instead, haunting memories of Vihaan’s own childhood break out as a fresh wound in his mind.

Read the novel to know what could make a father unhappy in the happiest moment of his life and how he combats his fear.
